What is Bougie (BOO-zhee (/ˈbuːʒi/))?
It's a few things. It's a wax candle. It's a medical device. But to me, being bougie means to have standards. To not want to buy something only to be disappointed by it. Originating from the middle ages, the bourgeoisie were the wealthy people. The people of class. The class that had standards that they lived by at great cost. But why are they the only ones that can have standards?

But Why? (cue meme...)

We spend money like everyone else, but we end up dealing with worse things. Dealing with scams from companies that only want to sell you the worst possible item at the highest possible cost. The lines are blurred between something nice and expensive as everything just seems expensive. Instead of having to constantly guess if something is good, wouldn't it be nice to know if it really is good? Not by paid-for reviews or paid promotions, but by like-minded people who just want to buy something once, share it with family and friends and be happy.

Our goal is to make sure we list things that aren't just good, they are Bougie Good. Meaning that we are excited to share them with people. It's the enjoyment of something small from a unique place, with a unique purpose, from a skilled artisan. Something that makes you feel better for getting it and making the world better.
